Amelia Briggs is an NYC-based visual artist. She received her MFA from the University of Memphis in 2015 and her BFA from Indiana University in 2009. In 2022, she was a grant recipient from the Tyson Family Foundation and CACHE for her solo exhibition, Pony Gate, installed in the Famous Storefront in Springdale, AR. Briggs has shown with platforms and galleries internationally, including Art Basel (Miami, FL), Cohle Gallery (Paris, France), The Hole (Los Angeles, CA), Boston University (Boston, MA), IRL Gallery (New York, NY), The Highline (New York, NY), Red Arrow Gallery (Nashville, TN), Eve Liebe Gallery (London, UK), Numeroventi (Florence, Italy), Bowes-Parris Gallery (London, UK), Ortega y Gasset Projects (New York, NY), Platform (New York, NY), Exhibition A (New York, NY), and Glass Rice (San Francisco, CA) among others. She has been an artist-in-residence at Monson Arts, Wassaic Project, and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Her work has been featured in publications, including the Observer, Hyperallergic, Boston Art Review, Effect Magazine, Artforum, Contemporary Art Review LA, NPR, ArtMaze Magazine, New American Paintings, Maake Magazine, Create Magazine, and Burnaway, among others. In 2019, Briggs began a collaboration with renowned Los Angeles-based designer Kelly Wearstler that continues today. This partnership has been featured in Vogue, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Surface, and Domino, among others. From 2017-2021, Briggs served as the Director of David Lusk Gallery (Nashville), where she curated numerous exhibitions. She has also curated exhibitions for SECAC, Hyde Gallery, and Spring/Break Art Show.
